Lyde Court Wedding | Ebony & Tref

Winter outdoor Lyde Court wedding photography in Herefordshire. Ebony & Tref’s most perfect wedding day was full of laughs, lot’s and lot’s of laugh’s and one hell of a party!

They chose to have their Lyde Court wedding on February 29th, a fact that was completely lost on me for a long time.  The fact it was a leap year wedding didn’t dawn on me until a good few months after our initial meeting.  They also chose to break from tradition and do things a little differently, which made this Lyde Court wedding even more enjoyable.

LOOKING FOR NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

There was no bridal preparation coverage for me as it wasn’t something they wanted.  But what they did decide to do was a ‘first look’ between bride and groom before the ceremony.  Although a little sceptical at first, it turned out to be one of the best ideas!  Tref made his way over to the main house where Ebony was getting ready, before waiting at the bottom of the stairs to see his bride. It was an emotional moment as they grabbed those first few moments together and one that took place without an audience which was nice.  It’s certainly something that I’ll speak to other couples about doing in the future.

The wedding itself took place outside in the open sided barn.  Yes, outside, in February!  And yes, it was pretty bloody cold!!  To be fair though, they did very well with the weather considering the torrential rain that hammered down the day before. Although once done though we headed back to the amazing main barn that Lyde Court is famous for.  And how great did it look?!

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT LYDE COURT

Highlights of the day included some very funny speeches, not least from the main man himself.  Though as I’m sure those who know him best will agree, Tref has never really been scared of being centre of attention.  Also the party, which I know I mentioned earlier.  Sam and the rest of the lads from the Playboys had the place jumping nice and early and I’m lead to believe late on into the night.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day as Ebony & Tref’s Lyde Court wedding photographer.  A huge thanks from me, I loved every part of it (even the freezing ceremony!!).   Another special shout out to the guys from Posh Bear on video duties whom it was a pleasure as ever to work alongside as well as these other suppliers who made it happen:

LYDE COURT - THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE

Preparations for the bridal party usually take place in the main house.  The White Room, as the name suggests, is a bright beautifully decorated room with it’s vintage chic décor.  A room where large windows allow gorgeous natural light to flood onto subjects, light that wedding photographers yearn for so much.

Newlyweds may choose to say their wedding vows in a variety of places at Lyde Court. The old rustic barn that is the main feature at Lyde Court is spectacular and is sure to be a popular choice with all your wedding guests. Dating from the 17th century, the barn with its stone walls, high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams will provide that quirky wow factor to any wedding.

UNPOSED WEDDINGS

This wedding venue also comes alive at night.  Candles, festoon lights and bunting all combine to provide for a very vintage boho atmosphere that is so sought after. A romantic ambiance falls upon Lyde Court after dark, once it’s lit by candle light the atmosphere is one of love.

Located far enough away from any hustle and bustle, the grounds at Lyde Court are also magical.  Amazing scenery as far as the eye can see, the surrounding fields make for a beautiful backdrop in which to photograph some couples portraits. As a professional wedding photographer there are so many different locations that can be used to capture these that I would love to take my camera back one day.
