Why I Love This Wedding Photograph #1 | Mid-Wales Wedding Magic

Out of all the weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing, I honestly don’t think I could ever pick a favourite.  But I was recently asked this exact question over on my Instagram – What was my favourite photograph that I’d ever taken at a wedding?

This got me thinking as well as looking back through each wedding which I have had the pleasure of covering.  Of course, each wedding is different.  Each has its high’s, its low’s, laughter and tears, but trying to pick to a favourite however is very difficult indeed.  Some of those I love may not be perfectly technically but they hopefully tell a story of part of that special day.

As I mentioned in my reply to the question on Instagram, my style as a natural and relaxed wedding photographer usually sees me more in the background, capturing those little moments that are sometimes otherwise missed.  My couples need to feel connected for this approach to work and comfortable that they can just let me carry on documenting their day.  Sometimes however, a little direction, just something as little as asking the couple to just go for a walk can yield amazing results.

Personally, for me, this is one of those times.

WHY I LOVE THIS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPH

To me this photograph just sums up why, as a Mid-Wales wedding photographer, I’m spoilt for choice.  I love photographing Mid-Wales weddings for this reason, the scenery we are blessed with in this part of the world never fails to put a smile on my face.  I often joke with my couples that it’s hard to take a bad photo in Mid-Wales, and whilst not strictly true, the stunning scenery does make it that bad harder too.

Taken during Lucy & Rich’s wedding day, we took the opportunity to jump in the 4x4 and make our way up on to the hills above Rich’s family farm.  I’m so glad we did!

If you’re thinking about having a photographer for your wedding and are looking for a natural and relaxed style I’d love to hear all about your plans.  Some of my other work can be seen here or you can get in touch here.
