Peterstone Court Wedding | Laura & Craig

When Laura & Craig chose me to be their Peterstone Court wedding photographer I was over the moon. It was my first time at this stunning South Wales wedding venue and I was keen to jump in and see what it had to offer. ***Spoiler alert – it did not disappoint!!

PETERSTONE COURT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

As I arrived at this Peterstone Court wedding, bridal preparations were underway, so after a few minutes scouting out the venue, I made my way up to the bridal suite. What followed for the next few hours was nothing but a relaxed and chilled atmosphere all morning. A perfect ambience in which to capture natural photos of the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls. Not a hint of the dreaded bridezilla to be seen anywhere. I think Laura may have even shocked herself at just how calm and relaxed everything was.

The marriage ceremony itself took place downstairs in the main ballroom at Peterstone Court in front of all the invited guests. Once the vows were said, wedding rings exchanged and register signed, the newly married happy couple led their guests outside on to the terrace for reception drinks with the majestic Brecon Beacons National Park as a backdrop. As the guests mingled, the bride and groom took some time away and we headed for a walk around the grounds for some couples portraits.

RELAXED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT PETERSTONE COURT

As a Brecon wedding photographer, although I look forward to all parts of a wedding, my two favourite times have to be the speeches and the wedding party!! On this occasion I’m pleased to say that neither of these elements disappointed. The expressions on guests faces, the belly laughs, the just letting it all go and having fun – just some of the things that every wedding needs and should have. A huge special thanks again to David for Craig’s speech, I’m not sure what he’d have done without you. And if you are reading this David, whoever you are – remember Craig owes you that beer!

The well-mannered guests of the day turned in to a rather lively bunch later on which meant that after dark when the band struck up there was plenty of signing and dancing!  Big shout out to the Audio Jaxx – you guys had the place rocking!

Laura & Craig’s Peterstone Court wedding was an absolute gem of a day and one I’m so happy that I was able to be a part of. A beautiful south wales wedding venue, garden games, a great wedding band and lively wedding guests. What isn’t to like?! Thanks again Laura & Craig, you were both a pleasure to work for.

Peterstone Court Brecon is an impressive and well-established country hotel situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the heart of Wales.  Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, only 5 minute’s drive from Brecon. Cardiff, Swansea and the M4 are also within convenient driving distance.

This splendid Grade II listed country house, with its Georgian architecture is an idyllic venue and a perfect choice for those looking for a south wales wedding venue. Surrounded by pristine countryside and amazing views of Pen-Y-Fan it really does put Peterstone Court up there with some of the best wedding venues in South Wales.  It’s a dream to compose wedding photographs at this venue.

Built in 1741, the impressive stone main house building boasts 8 bedrooms which blend new modern style with old Georgian history.  Each also havs their own picturesque views over the surrounding mountains and Welsh countryside.  A further 4 rooms are located in the Stables.  Full of character, these converted loft spaces are beautifully decorated and perfect for larger groups or families. All this accommodation means wedding guests will have plenty of options should they want to stay and make the most of the celebrations. Peterstone Court is big enough that both bridal and groom preparations can take place without fear of bumping into each other, but small enough that it retains the personal touch.  A picture perfect Brecon Beacons wedding venue, couples who hire Peterstone Court as their wedding venue will also enjoy exclusive use for their special day.

NATURAL PETERSTONE COURT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS

There are options for where to hold your wedding ceremony if you choose a Peterstone Court wedding.  If you’d like a religious ceremony, the 15th century St. Peter & St. Illtyd Church is within walking distance of Peterstone or you may prefer to say ‘I Do’ with a civil ceremony in the elegant Pen Y Fan Ball Room.

Wedding guests will also be spoilt for choice with activities away from the wedding.  From walking in the hills, to mountain biking or maybe you fancy sailing on nearby Llangorse lake.  After a long day you’ll be grateful for the Brecon Spa offering a wide range of luxurious treatments and facilities. And no matter what type of photographer you are, a professional wedding photographer, or just a keen amateur, with all the natural beauty the Brecon Beacons has to offer, you’ll be spoilt for choice with what to capture with your camera.  Views of the nearby mountains or birds on Llangorse lake are popular choices to take frames of, just be sure to bring all the photography equipment you need to take amazing photographs of this beautiful area.
