Brooks Country House Wedding | Jay & Nathan
I was very happy indeed when Jay & Nathan asked me to be their Brooks Country House Wedding Photographer. It’s a venue I’d never had the pleasure of visiting, (I believe it was previously called Pengethley Manor), and new venues always fill me with joy so I couldn’t think of a better way to kick start my 2019 wedding season.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT BROOKS COUNTRY HOUSE
Both the wedding ceremony and wedding reception were held here and although the weather was, to be polite, not pretty (I can’t remember which storm we were in the middle of, I’ve kind of lost touch with where we’re up to) it still looked great. The main bridal suite where my day began had some nice big windows which let in plenty of soft light. Just what wedding photographers like.
Once the ceremony was completed, Jay & Nathan did brave the elements for a (very) short while to get out in to the grounds to get some photographs of just the two of them, nothing posed, just natural moments between them.
There was also the matter of a 6 Nations rugby match decider between Wales & Ireland on the same day. Now Jay is a passionate Welsh girl, whilst Nathan is from Northern Ireland. So throw a few guests from over the Irish Sea in to the mix and it made for a great atmosphere. Also being Welsh myself, I was glad to see the Welsh team win!
As day very quickly turned in to night the wedding party began. This is always one of my favourite times of any wedding day. The dancefloor was rocking early on, and when I say rocking, I mean rocking. The musical tastes of Jay & Nathan are very much aligned with mine – rock!
NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
All in all I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed my inaugural Brooks Country House wedding. The grounds surrounding the venue would look even better in the summer months I’m sure. As would the vineyard they have there. Yes, Vineyard! I’m hoping I get to go back in the near future.
Congratulations to Jay & Nathan, thanks for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day.
