Powys Country Wedding Photography | Sam & Will

Although 2019 hasn’t been too bad a summer weather wise, it’s not been a patch on the glorious weather we had in 2018.  Of the times that the weather has been beautiful, Sam & Will’s summer country wedding in Powys was one of them.  Being a wedding photographer in south Wales you’d think I’d be used to weather like this right (honest), but take it from me - this was a HOT one!!

MID-WALES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, countryside weddings, especially on farms are quite the norm in rural Wales.  This particular wedding took place at Sam’s family farm near Boughrood, with the ceremony at the nearby church, where it was standing room only (and there was very little of that!).  On arrival in the morning I even got to put my hoovering skills to use in one of the biggest wedding marquee’s I’ve seen – (Note to all perspective brides - I don’t mind getting my hands dirty!)

After a few hours with Sam and her bridesmaids I hot footed it over to Foyles of Glasbury to Will where he had spent the morning with his ushers and family.

Once the ceremony and formalities hand concluded, together with one of the longest confetti lines I’ve ever seen, Sam & will made the journey back to the farm in style, in a very very nice Audi R8! From there we headed down to the river for some couple photo’s together with a few formals, before heading back to the reception.

As the guests made the most of the weather, and following some rather funny speeches, the sky went as black as I’ve ever seen but somehow it didn’t rain!  As one guest told me, that’s why they call them the Black Mountains – he wasn’t joking!  Once this cleared however we were treated to some beautiful golden hour light which only seems to happen around sunset, with Sam & Will both happy to take advantage of.

NATURAL & UNPOSED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

All in all a great day, finished off in style by Bring the Noise band.  As I always do, I stayed late in to the night to capture the party and it certainly looked like everyone was having rather a good time.  It was an honour to be asked by Sam & Will to capture their South Wales wedding photography.  They were a pleasure to work for and to spend time with.
